There has been a phone scam reported in our area. The caller claimed he was from another utility but hired by Tri-County EMC to disconnect service. He demanded payment from the member in cash in order to avoid power disconnection.
Remember that Tri-County EMC won't call you demanding immediate payment in cash. If you receive a call like this, it is a scam and you should report it to the proper authorities.
