In March 2015, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 11 grant projects, totaling $23,900 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:

• Chard Wray Memorial Food Pantry: $2,000 to purchase food for a food bank serving Baldwin County.
• Christ Community Church of Gray: $1,200 to purchase food for a food bank serving Jones County.
• First Presbyterian Church: $2,000 to purchase food for the church’s food pantry serving Baldwin County.
• Habitat for Humanity of Putnam County: $2,500 to assist in the construction of 2 Habitat for Humanity homes in Putnam County.
Jones County Department of Fire and Rescue/EMA: $2,000 to purchase 100 smoke detectors for homes in Jones County.
Jones County Public Library: $2,000 to purchase books and supplies for the library’s 2015 youth summer reading program.
Milledgeville Kappa League: $1,000 for ACT/SAT prep guide books, test prep classes and test registration fees for at-risk youth in Baldwin County.
Putnam Christian Outreach: $6,800 to repair plumbing, insulation and siding of an elderly caretaker’s home in Putnam County.
Putnam Community Resources: $2,000 to purchase food for a food bank serving Putnam County.
Twin Lakes Library System: $2,000 to purchase books and supplies for the 2015 summer reading program.
Jones County 4-H SAFE Shotgun Team: $400 to assist the team in paying qualification and registration fees for the 2015 state competition.

Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions to Tri-County EMC members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar, with that surplus amount going to fund Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight county service area are eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from tri-countyemc.com or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
