We're Celebrating National Co-op Month

October is National Co-op Month, a time to celebrate the unique way cooperatives, like Tri-County EMC, serve their members and communities. Tri-County EMC is proud to be a not-for-profit electric cooperative, owned by the very people we serve — our members. This structure ensures that every decision we make is centered on providing reliable, affordable electricity and enhancing the quality of life in our local communities.

What sets a cooperative apart is its approach. Member-owners have a direct voice in how the cooperative is run by electing a local board of directors to represent their interests and guide the cooperative’s decisions. Tri-County EMC keeps the needs of our members at the heart of everything we do.

Being part of a cooperative also means being part of something larger. Your EMC strives to make a positive impact through programs such as energy efficiency education, youth leadership development, and scholarship opportunities, as well as economic growth efforts, including the introduction of 100% fiber internet to previously underserved communities. Expanding access to high-speed internet not only bridges the digital divide but also attracts new businesses, supports education, and creates opportunities for long-term economic growth in the region.

As we celebrate National Co-op Month, we want to thank our members for their trust and partnership. Together, we are more than just an electric company — we are neighbors working side by side to keep our communities strong, connected, and thriving.
