We’ve heard several reports of individuals receiving scam phone calls demanding payment for their Tri-County EMC bill. The caller states they are with Tri-County EMC and tells the person that this is their final chance to make a payment on their account. The caller also offers the opportunity to get a credit card with a low interest rate to pay the bill. The number that shows on the caller ID is 478-986-4095, but may show up from other numbers as well.
We assure you that this is not a call from Tri-County EMC. If you ever receive a questionable call from someone claiming to be from Tri-County EMC, we encourage you to hang up the phone and call our office directly at 1.866.254.8100 or 478-986-8100. It’s also important to note the number on caller ID and report this to the police as well.
