In September 2016, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved grant projects, totaling $18,480 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:


Boy Scout Troop 310: $1,600 to help cover the cost to send members of a Putnam County troop to Boy Scout Camp.

Brave Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center: $1,000 to send three riders to compete in the Special Olympics.

Camp Kudzu: $1,000 to send a student from the Tri-County EMC service area to a diabetic education camp.

Chard Wray Memorial Food Pantry: $1,000 to purchase food for a food bank in Baldwin County.

Ferst Foundation: $1,000 to purchase books for children under the age of 5 in Jasper County.

Georgia War Veterans Home: $2,500 to renovate a Care Ambassador Suite to accommodate visitors to the Georgia War Veterans Home in Baldwin County.

Golden Harvest Food Bank: $1,000 to purchase food for a food bank serving individuals in need in Putnam County.

Habitat for Humanity of Milledgeville/Baldwin County: $2,500 to be used for HVAC work in a new Habitat home in Baldwin County.

Northridge Christian Ramp Ministry: $550 to purchase materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual recovering from hip surgery in Baldwin County.

Putnam Christian Outreach: $1,500 to help a diabetic individual in Putnam County receive cataract surgery and to provide shelter, medicine and food for those in need in Putnam County.

Milledgeville First United Methodist Church: $750 to purchase materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual in need in Baldwin County.

Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department: $400 to replace the lungs in the CPR mannequins that are used to teach community classes.

Fragile Kids Foundation: $2,680 to purchase a stroller to help a child with Cerebral Palsy in Putnam County get to and from doctors’ appointments.


Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions to Tri-County EMC members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar, with that surplus amount going to fund Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight county service area are eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
