Construction on Tri-County EMC’s 1MW solar project in Putnam County is well underway, with project completion expected in early June. Energy from the project will provide affordable, no-risk access to solar energy for members electing to participate in the cooperative’s ourSolar program.
Grading for the project was completed in April and racking and modules were delivered soon thereafter. The site will house more than 4,200 solar panels on about 7 acres and will provide the cooperative with more than 2,000,000 kWhs per year.
Signups for Tri-County’s ourSolar program began on April 7, with more than 10% of the available blocks reserved in the first few days of the program. To sign up or to learn more about the program, visit our website at
