In September 2012, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 13 applications, totaling $21,105.96 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:

 

·         Boy Scout Troop 132/Cub Scout Pack 583 - $500 to purchase needed supplies and gear for the scouts

·         The GIVE Center - $2,500 to purchase supplies for the Potato Drop in Baldwin County

·         Habitat for Humanity – Milledgeville - $3,870 to purchase an AC unit for a Habitat home in Baldwin County

·         JACOR Foundation - $2,000 to purchase coats for 50 kids and Thanksgiving baskets for 50 families in need in Jones County

·         Jasper County Sheriff’s Office - $500 to purchase educational safety material for children in Jasper County

·         Jones County Senior Center - $1,390.96 to purchase sewing machines for the Jones County Senior Center

·         Lions Club of Jones County - $500 to assist in paying medical expenses for an individual with leukemia in Jones County

·         Milledgeville Kappa League- $500 to pay for SAT and ACT prep courses for students in Baldwin County

·         New Damascus Baptist Church- $2,000 to purchase materials to repair a home damaged by fire in Jones County

·         Mustard Seed Ministry – Milledgeville - $945 to purchase materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual who suffered a stroke in Baldwin County

·         Mustard Seed Ministry – Milledgeville - $2,500 to purchase materials to repair the roof of a family in need in Baldwin County

·         Mustard Seed Ministries – Jones County - $3,200 to purchase materials to repair the roof of an individual in need in Jones County

·         Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department - $700 to purchase a CPR AED trainer to comply with Red Cross and American Heart Association standards

 

 

Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC Members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is donated to Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight-county service area is eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from Tri-County EMC’s Web site or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
