News & Press

On August 14, we lost a friend, a dedicated employee and a beloved member of the Tri-County EMC Family. Buck Womble started his career at Tri-County in 1999 working as a Dispatcher. He worked his way up over the years to become a First-Class Lineman. In more recent years, he served as a Meter Technician, and an Apparatus Maintenance Technician before ultimately becoming the Lead Engineering Tech.

He was a dedicated husband to his wife Michelle, and a loving father to his sons, Lane and Eric, and his bonus children, Macy and CJ.  And he would do anything for his Mama. Anyone who knew Buck knows he loved to laugh and have a good time. It was always hard to keep a straight face around him when you saw his mischievous grin. He loved taking care of his cars, washing and waxing them more than the recommended amount. He spoiled his goats rotten, often feeding them candy. And he would spend every chance he could riding his Harley Davidson. He hated cold weather, but loved a cold beer. He was never one to sit still and always stayed busy.

We will miss seeing him around our office, his hand always waving saying, “Mornin’! Mornin’! Mornin’!” Now he will spend his days riding his Harley in heaven with his Dad. And vacuuming the floors of heaven daily. He’s keeping an eye on us, making sure we are always aware of our surroundings – as he would always say.

We will miss you, Buck. Rest in Peace.
