A message from Brenda P. Green, Chairman, Tri-County EMC Board of Directors

As we begin 2020, I would like to look ahead to the promise of the new year and let you know about exciting things ahead. As a member of an electric cooperative, you are an owner in one of America’s most successful and influential business models. The promise of rural electrification is still alive and relevant after eighty years and we have many exciting things in store in 2020.

First of all, I would like to thank our membership for the high marks you give the cooperative in the customer satisfaction survey. We will continue to survey the membership in 2020 as we strive to serve you even better. Thanks for your trust and feedback. In 2019, we held our first “town hall meeting” — a chance for members to gather and share their thoughts about the cooperative. The great questions and input were very helpful. We will host more of these meetings in the coming months and we hope you will join us.

One of our initiatives for 2020 is connecting fiber-optic cable to Tri-County EMC’s facilities, including our headquarters and substations. That connectivity is vital to delivering innovative solutions. We are also conducting a broadband study to assess the existing internet service available to our members and the feasibility of providing service. Please be patient as we work through this process. We will keep you updated.

Our knowledgeable employees are here to help you with efficiency and innovation. Because EVs represent the cutting edge in technology and efficiency, we will introduce incentives for electric vehicles and EV chargers in 2020. More information on our EV efforts are included here.

We exist to serve you and working together, we will accomplish much. Wishing you a safe and prosperous 2020.
