Establishing Residential Service

To establish service, all customers must apply for service either in person or via telephone and pay a $20 connection fee and a refundable $5 membership fee. Current members are not required to pay an additional membership fee, as multiple accounts can be held under one membership. To establish an account for a new home, construction fees may apply.

Establishing an account at an existing Tri-County EMC service

After applying for service and paying all applicable fees and deposits, service will be connected within three working days.

Establishing an account at a new location

After applying for service and paying all applicable fees and deposits, your new service should be completed within fourteen days of the date of inspection by the county planning and zoning inspector. Construction fees are listed below by category.

Residential Overhead Construction

Service is available for new primary residences for up to 1,200 feet of overhead construction at no charge. Tri-County EMC personnel will determine charges for overhead service in excess of 1,200 feet or for services to non-primary residences.

Residential Underground Construction

Service is available for new primary residences for up to 250 feet of underground construction for $450. Tri-County EMC personnel will determine additional charges for underground service in excess of 250 feet.
