Four Things to Watch for in 2008

Happy New Year from Tri-County EMC. The staff and directors of Tri-County hope 2008 is a safe and prosperous year for you. Most of all, we hope 2008 will prove to be a year where electricity makes your life better and conservation is on your mind. Here are four things to watch for from Tri-County EMC in 2008:

1.)  Starting in January, the power costs adjustment paid during 2007 will be folded into the 2008 rates. On your January bill, you will see a zero power cost adjustment amount. But, this means your cost per kWh for January 2008 will be the same as in January 2007.

2.)  In Februrary 2007, we will kick off a new package of programs promoting energy efficiency and conservation. Watch upcoming editions of Current Lines for details about exciting new energy audit products, home energy rebates and other exciting conservation initiatives.

3.)  This is probably a new term for most. Demand side management (DSM) or load management, is a process of reducing existing electric capacity in homes or businesses versus building new generation. DSM is much cheaper than building new power plants, meaning lower energy rates in future years, and it’s good for the environment. Best of all, our new load management program, to be unveiled in Feb. 2008, will pay you a rebate each year you participate.

4.)  This new program will provide participating members with an email notification and link to each month’s electric bill, eliminating worry about getting your bill in the mail. <<
