Energy Tip of the Month
This year, make a resolution to conserve energy, and keep your money in the piggy bank. (10665-01)
- Think twice when you leave a room and turn off the lights, TV, computer and music systems. Shut down your computer if you’ll be away for an extended period of time.
- Dress in layers during winter and throw another blanket on the bed so you c
an lower the hermostat a few degrees.
- Set the temperature on your water heater to 120 degrees. You will save 3 to 5 percent for each 10 degrees you lower it.
- To trap warm air in your home, weatherstrip windows and doors, and seal joints in exposed ductwork in the attic.
- Install low-flow showerheads.
