This is certainly more of an indication of a change in demographics and lifestyles than a statement about cooperative membership. Over the course of a year, for every net new member we add, six or seven more join and leave. While the cooperative is growing, the length of time an average customer has been a member gets shorter. With that in mind, it seems that with this being Cooperative Month, what better time to reflect on the principles that make electric cooperatives so great. >>>

Energy Tip of the Month
Take the following measures to prepare your home for the fast-approaching cool months.
Check the insulation in your attic, ceilings, exterior, floors and crawl spaces. The recommended levels for Georgia are R-30 for the ceiling; R-13 for the walls and R–19 for floors with a crawlspace.
Caulk or apply expanding spray foam to seal around pipes and wires leading from the attic or crawl space.
Install gaskets in outlets and switches on outside walls to prevent air leakage. (41604-02)
Caulk cracks around window and door moldings, and weather-strip around doorframes and at the top and bottom of window sashes. <<
