Thousands of Georgia Students Can Enjoy New EMC Pavilion
>> “While we have many friends, none are more constant, generous and supportive than the EMCs of Georgia,” said State 4-H Leader Bo Ryles at the dedication ceremony for the new Georgia EMC Building and Senior Pavilion at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. “There’s no single facility at Rock Eagle that will be more important to kids than this one. It’s where they can have fun, fellowship and learn and grow together.”
In 2000, Tri-County and EMCs across the state teamed to contribute $240,000 to the pavilion at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Putnam County. The contribution was part of the Georgia 4-H Foundation’s “Pledged for Life” campaign to raise funds for improving Georgia’s 4-H centers.
The 18,000-square-foot facility houses a 2,400 square-foot classroom and a 10,000 square-foot covered pavilion that can seat 750 people or be used to host recreational activities. The pavilion includes restrooms, two large storage rooms, a prep kitchen and space for a future short order grill.<<
