Avoid an Unexpected Late Fee

>>
Have you had a late charge on your account because your payment took longer than expected to reach us? Maybe you paid your bill through your bank’s online payment service, only to find that it took several days to get to us. Tri-County EMC posts payments to your account the day they are received. Please consider these suggestions and services to make sure you are not hit with an unexpected late fee.If sending your payment by mail, please remember to allow at least four business days before your due date to ensure arrival. Unless you send the payment “priority,” there are no guarantees for delivery. If the payment arrives late, a five percent penalty will apply. However, if you are a Senior Plan member, you do not pay a penalty fee.

If you are using online bill payment services through your bank, please note if the payment is for more than one account.  Remember that these services do not go through an automatic Clearinghouse. Your bank typically mails a check to us, which may take several days.  It may take more time to reach us than if you wrote the check and mailed it yourself. Also, please notate if your payment is for more than one account.
When sending one payment for multiple accounts, you must include all payment stubs with clear instructions for the amount you are paying for each account. You will be held responsible for late charges that occur because we could not determine how you wanted payments posted.

If you are not sure your payment will get there in time, avoid late charges by usin
