Tri-County's Relay For Life Team Helps County to Exceed Goal

>> For the fifth consecutive year, Tri-County EMC employees  supported cancer research through the Jones County Relay for Life. This year, the team raised $2,157.

A group of employees dedicated their time and efforts to a variety of fundraisers including bake sales, car washes, cookouts, raffles and yard sales. The remaining employees donated their money to the frequently held on-site fundraisers.

Control Center Operator William Hubbard, Customer Service Representatives Tammie Malone and Margaret Pauldo and Communications Specialist Margaret Morris made up this year's team. "I have always participated due to a history of family members who have had this dreadful disease and did not make it," says Tammie Malone, Relay for Life fifth-year participant. "This year I discovered that a young boy I knew was sick. This was really hard for me because he and my child have gone to the same babysitter since birth. It made me realize how much we take for granted." Jones County participants raised over $136,000 in the event exceeding this year's goal by $4,000.

Tri-County EMC also recognizes the following contributors in this event: 4-Way Electric, Electric Supply of Macon, Inc. and Pike Electric, Inc. <<
